The Ministry of Education has opened applications for universities to establish innovative programs, and Cheng Shiu University has applied for 13 programs, accommodating 348 students, representing 15% of the national total. The programs primarily target students from Indonesia and the Philippines, with memorandums signed with major tech companies to provide scholarships and employment opportunities. With over 1,400 international students already enrolled, Cheng Shiu University stands out as a major beneficiary of these new programs.

The Ministry of Education has designated Cheng Shiu University as the lead institution for the Indonesia base and deputy lead for the Philippines base, with three overseas hubs established. The approved programs include 13 classes, offering both post-bachelor and two-year technical tracks in the fields of Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, catering to second bachelor’s degree students and associate degree graduates.

These new programs are offered within the departments of Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, with courses such as the "Equipment Engineering Program," "Engineering Graphics and Computer Science Practices Program," and the "Precision Design and Manufacturing Program." Bilingual instruction will be provided in Chinese and English. Notably, the Equipment Engineering Program, in collaboration with ASE Group, offers 20 spots. After the programs launch, it is estimated that the number of international students will approach 2,000, exceeding 10% of the university’s total student population.
