Today (April 10), Fangliao High School and Cheng Shiu University held their third "Guiding Hands" exchange event with international students, embarking on a journey focused on sustainable development and the reuse of marine waste.
Participants engaged in hands-on activities such as painting planters made from buoys, crafting wax apple tree trunk decorations, and assembling DIY triangle fishing nets using mesh covers.
These activities introduced international students to traditional Taiwanese fishing tools, and they inscribed heartfelt blessings onto the fishing nets, symbolizing "hope" (a wordplay on the similarity between "fishing net" and "hope" in Taiwanese).
For lunch, the group enjoyed local specialties, including locally sourced whitebait, emphasizing reduced food mileage and fostering a sense of warmth and mutual support under the "Guiding Hands" theme.
This event was not only an inter-school exchange but also a meaningful exploration of ocean sustainability. We look forward to Cheng Shiu University's continued international efforts, contributing to marine conservation and sustainable development!
