The "Taiwan-Indonesia International Industry-Academia Educational Cooperation Alliance" held a formal signing ceremony today at Cheng Shiu University of Science and Technology. Cheng Shiu University, in partnership with Hsing Wu University of Science and Technology and Chaoyang University of Technology, has jointly established three overseas bases in Indonesia, located in Jakarta, Bangka, and Surabaya. These bases will serve as key platforms for promoting Chinese language preparatory courses, facilitating international cooperation and exchanges, and recruiting students for newly developed specialized programs.

This "International Industry-Academia Educational Cooperation Alliance" is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Education in response to the National Development Council's efforts to "Enhance Population and Immigration Policy." The initiative addresses industry recommendations by expanding efforts to attract outstanding international students to study in Taiwan, and by retaining international talent trained locally, fostering greater talent exchange and collaboration between Taiwan and Indonesia.

Cheng Shiu University President Gong Rui-Zhang stated after the signing ceremony that although the government's southbound policy has been in effect for several years, attracting many foreign students to Taiwan, policy restrictions often prevent these students from staying for employment. Indonesia, as a populous nation, stands to benefit from the creation of these specialized programs, which will aid in retaining more skilled individuals while enhancing bilateral educational cooperation between Taiwan and Indonesia.

At present, the Indonesian overseas bases have signed agreements with 52 Indonesian universities under the "Indonesia International Industry-Academia Educational Cooperation Alliance." This alliance will recruit more outstanding Indonesian students to study in Taiwan, further deepening cooperation and exchange between the two countries in the fields of industry, academia, and education.
