Cheng Shiu University and III Sign Partnership on Generative AI Curriculum and Certification
Advancing Practical AI Learning and Enhancing Students’ Employment Competitiveness

In response to the rapid advancement of AI technologies and the growing demand for AI professionals in industry, Cheng Shiu University (CSU) is actively promoting education in generative AI. Today, CSU signed a “Generative AI Curriculum and Certification Cooperation Agreement” with the Institute for Information Industry (III) to jointly promote the integration of generative AI educational content and competency certification. The collaboration aims to provide both faculty and students with greater opportunities to engage in AI learning and hands-on practice, thereby strengthening students’ competitiveness in the job market.

The signing ceremony was officiated by Dr. Ray-Wei Kung, Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs at CSU, and Dr. Yu-Cheng Chang, Director of the Digital Education Institute at III. Dr. Kung emphasized that AI has become a major trend across all sectors of society, with widespread applications now integral to industry development. In response, CSU is committed to incorporating AI into its curriculum, guided by the principle that anything beneficial to students will be pursued with dedication.

He noted that the partnership with III will significantly enhance students’ AI literacy and practical skills, further boosting the university’s competitiveness in the field of digital education.

Dr. Yu-Cheng Chang remarked that AI is evolving rapidly and urgently. III’s efforts in promoting AI curriculum are aimed at helping learners understand why AI matters. He stressed that students who complete AI coursework and obtain certification will enjoy considerable advantages in future employment.

He further emphasized that future job market competitiveness will depend heavily on digital skills and AI proficiency. By partnering with CSU, III aims to help students prepare early and contribute to Taiwan’s broader digital transformation and AI talent development.

According to projections by Taiwan’s National Development Council, there will be a shortage of 350,000 AI professionals by 2028. As industries increasingly demand skilled AI talent, CSU’s collaboration with III will bring generative AI curriculum and training into the university, enabling students to obtain AI certifications and enhance their career prospects.

The scope of this collaboration includes:

  1. Application of Generative AI Curriculum
III will provide authorized teaching materials, which CSU faculty will integrate into academic courses to enhance students’ learning outcomes in AI.

  2. AI Competency Certification
Students will be encouraged to participate in III’s Generative AI Certification Program to gain a competitive edge in future employment.

  3. Faculty Professional Development
Specialized training will be offered to CSU faculty to equip them with the latest AI technologies and application methods in generative AI.
