Cheng Shiu University Joins Net-Zero Strategy Alliance to Co-Cultivate Green Talent for a Sustainable Future

In response to the global trend toward net-zero carbon emissions, Cheng Shiu University (CSU) is actively participating in the Net-Zero Carbon Strategy Alliance led by National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU). On April 17, CSU joined NKNU, National Chung Cheng University, National University of Tainan, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Fooyin University, and the Kaohsiung Environmental Protection Bureau’s Net-Zero Academy to sign a joint cooperation agreement at NKNU’s Ho-Ping Campus. This initiative aims to advance environmental sustainability education and foster professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve net-zero emissions.

The signing ceremony was presided over by NKNU President Dr. Cheng-Yen Wang and attended by key representatives from alliance institutions, including Dr. Shih-Leh Chen (VP for R&D, Chung Cheng University), Dr. Ta-Wei Lin (VP for R&D, University of Tainan), Dr. Meng-Hao Tsai (General Affairs Director, NPUST), President Dr. Hui-Hsien Lin of Fooyin University, and Ms. Chun-Ying Wu, Director of the Environmental Safety Division at Cheng Shiu University. Also in attendance was Dr. Han-Yuan Liu, Chairman of Georgia International Certification Co., Ltd., reflecting a strong commitment from academia, government, and industry to advancing net-zero education.

CSU’s Role in the Alliance: Applying Expertise to Sustainability

As a key participant in the alliance, Cheng Shiu University will leverage its strengths in environmental safety and sustainable technology through the following initiatives:

  • Curriculum Development: CSU will integrate knowledge in environmental inspection, smart manufacturing, and environmental engineering to create industry-aligned net-zero education programs.

  • Collaborative Research Projects: Joint efforts with alliance partners and industries will focus on R&D in net-zero technologies, energy management, and eco-friendly materials.

  • Faculty and Student Exchange: Cross-university training and student project bases will promote interdisciplinary learning and application in sustainable development.

  • Hands-On Training and Base Development: CSU will foster industry-academia collaboration projects, providing students with practical experience and deepening their understanding of net-zero technologies.

A Strategic Alliance for a Sustainable Future

Through this strategic partnership, Cheng Shiu University not only reinforces its technical and educational leadership in sustainability and industry applications, but also expands and enriches its curriculum. The goal is to nurture highly capable professionals who can meet the demands of future green industries and contribute to building a sustainable future for society and the next generation.
