Indonesian University Environmental Science Department Delegation Visits Cheng Shiu University, Actively Discusses Collaboration
A delegation from the Environmental Science Department of an Indonesian university, including Director Budhi, Vice Director Dony, Team Leader Suyud, HR Manager Tri, and Laboratory Supervisor Sunardi, visited the Environmental Toxicology and Emerging Pollutants Research Center at Cheng Shiu University today. They received a warm welcome from Cheng Shiu University, and President Gong Ruei-Zhang expressed his excitement to share expertise and insights, extending a warm welcome to the Indonesian university’s Environmental Science Department team.
President Gong Ruei-Zhang pointed out that Cheng Shiu University’s Center for Trace-Level Research Technologies was established in 1999 and was Taiwan’s first institution with a dioxin analysis laboratory, making it one of the largest dioxin analysis laboratories in Taiwan. Furthermore, this laboratory meets the standards for Olympic athlete anti-doping testing, demonstrating its professionalism and focus as a research center.
The Indonesian delegation visited Cheng Shiu University’s Environmental Toxicology and Emerging Pollutants Research Center and was accompanied by a professional team led by Director Kuo-Ping Chang. They gained insights into the dioxin laboratory and organic compound analysis laboratory of the Trace-Level Research Center and actively participated in the dioxin stack sampling procedures. This visit aimed to assist the Indonesian university in establishing its dioxin laboratory and provided a clear structure and plan for this purpose.
The primary objectives of this exchange and cooperation were to assist the Indonesian university in establishing a dioxin laboratory and to discuss future academic collaboration on environmental science issues. Additionally, the delegation will visit the Central District Resource Recovery Plant of the Kaohsiung City Government’s Environmental Protection Bureau to understand waste incineration treatment technology, providing valuable insights for Indonesia’s future development.
This exchange between Cheng Shiu University and the Environmental Science Department of the Indonesian university will promote the sharing of knowledge and experiences and contribute to the advancement of the field of environmental science. We look forward to deeper cooperation and joint efforts in addressing global environmental issues in the future.
