Cheng Shiu University Partners with the Wenshan Special District Business Community to Advance Local Revitalization through AI and Digital Marketing
As digital transformation and sustainability continue to accelerate, local business districts are facing challenges such as changing consumer behaviors, intensified brand competition, and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. To strengthen the resilience of local industries while cultivating a new generation of professionals equipped with practical skills and a sustainability mindset, the Department of Business Administration at Cheng Shiu University and the Wenshan Special District Sustainable Development Association of Kaohsiung City officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 21, 2026. Together, they will establish a collaborative platform that integrates digital marketing, AI applications, and local revitalization initiatives.
This partnership not only demonstrates Cheng Shiu University's commitment to advancing University Social Responsibility (USR) and sustainable development, but also represents an important step in bridging vocational education with local communities and industry practice.
Cheng Shiu University Deepens Industry–Academia Collaboration to Foster Sustainable Regional Development
The collaboration was jointly promoted by Mr. Hsieh Hung-Ta, Chairman of the Wenshan Special District Sustainable Development Association; Director Chen Yi-Ru; Public Relations Director Hsu Chih-Hsiang; and Dean Chou Hsiu-Jung of the College of Health and Management at Cheng Shiu University.
The two parties will establish a four-year partnership to align the University's professional resources with the needs of the local business community, thereby promoting regional economic development and supporting the digital transformation of the business district.
Cheng Shiu University has long emphasized the philosophy of integrating theory with practice and strengthening community engagement. This partnership centers on three key themes: Sustainable Business Districts, Digital Innovation, and Talent Development. Through industry–academia collaboration, the University aims to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses while cultivating students' interdisciplinary integration, problem-solving, and AI application capabilities.
Integrating AI and Digital Marketing to Support Sustainable Business Transformation
According to the agreement, both parties will jointly promote the following initiatives:
-
Business district branding and digital marketing planning
-
Social media management and content marketing
-
AI tool adoption and application exchange
-
Market research and consumer behavior analysis
-
Business visits and professional seminars
-
Student projects and business proposal collaborations
In an era of rapid AI advancement, local business districts can no longer rely solely on traditional brick-and-mortar operations. Instead, they must embrace digital tools and innovative marketing strategies to improve operational efficiency and increase brand visibility.
Dean Chou Hsiu-Jung of the College of Health and Management noted that the Department of Business Administration has long been dedicated to cultivating management professionals who possess both academic expertise and practical industry experience. Through this collaboration, the Wenshan Special District will serve as a real-world learning environment where students can apply AI tools and digital marketing strategies to help local businesses upgrade and innovate. This initiative further demonstrates the University's commitment to University Social Responsibility and the spirit of local revitalization.
Bringing Students from the Classroom into Real-World Practice
The partnership will also establish a long-term practical engagement mechanism. Each semester, businesses within the district will provide real-world cases, while students will participate through coursework, capstone projects, competitions, and marketing proposals to conduct brand analysis, social media management, and digital strategy planning.
Through this experiential learning approach, students will not only strengthen their practical skills but also gain a deeper understanding of local industry needs and the importance of sustainable business operations. This experience will help them develop the interdisciplinary competencies required to navigate industrial transformation and the AI-driven future.
For local businesses, the collaboration offers access to students' innovative ideas and the University's professional expertise, helping to enhance brand image and market exposure while creating a sustainable cycle of mutual growth and shared value between academia and the community.
Cheng Shiu University Continues to Advance USR, Local Revitalization, and Regional Sustainability
In recent years, Cheng Shiu University has actively promoted ESG, USR, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiatives. By connecting local industries, communities, and corporate resources, the University has developed collaborative models that integrate talent cultivation, digital transformation, and local revitalization with regional sustainable development.
This partnership with the Wenshan Special District Business Community represents more than an extension of industry–academia collaboration; it is also a significant milestone in Cheng Shiu University's vision of creating a Sustainable Campus and a Prosperous Community Together. Looking ahead, both parties will continue to pursue interdisciplinary projects and innovative collaborations, jointly establishing a new benchmark for digital transformation and sustainable development among local business districts in Kaohsiung.
