Strengthening regional engagement through
hands-on technical education to advance sustainability and net zero.
Cheng Shiu University (CSU) of Science and Technology is committed to developing industry-oriented talent with professional competence and social responsibility. Guided by the SDGs, the University integrates teaching, research, and governance to advance excellence in teaching, industry-academia collaboration, and sustainable development.
Sustainability Talent Development and Social Engagement
The University integrates AI and smart healthcare across engineering, business, design, nursing, and long-term care programs through partnerships with 22 medical institutions. Guided by the 3i Empowerment Strategy (iSmart × iSDGs × AI), it advances sustainability education through USR and SDG-linked courses, achieving a 95% SDG course alignment rate in 2025. With 13 years of USR engagement, it fosters digital education, healthy aging, and intergenerational learning while applying SROI to measure social impact.
Creating Value Through Industry Partnerships
The University drives innovation through industry-academia collaboration, applied research, and AI, supported by five research centers and an AI Research and Technology Center. in 2025, it partnered with over 1,300 companies and secured NT$430 million in industry collaboration funding, ranking first among Taiwan's private universities of science and technology. Through internships, industry-linked education, and USR, it advances talent development, regional innovation, and sustainable value creation.
Advancing a Low-Carbon Green Campus
The University advances a low-carbon campus through energy conservation, resource recycling, and carbon management, guided by TCFD and ISO 14064-1. in 2025, greenhouse gas emissions decreased 7.01% to 6,841 tCO₂e, renewable energy use reached 7.48%, and green procurement exceeded NT$26 million.
Building a Diverse and Inclusive Campus
The University promotes its LIFE: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion philosophy through human rights, gender equality, and multicultural education. It fosters humanistic literacy through cultural events and provides scholarships and learning support to advance educational equity. These efforts have earned the Ministry of Education's Friendly Campus Award and Special Education Excellence School award.
In 2025, the University received three Taiwan Sustainable University Awards (TUSA) and ranked among the Top 5 private universities of science and technology in the CommonWealth USR University Rankings. Looking ahead, it will continue to strengthen sustainability governance, cultivate green talent, and collaborate with government, industry, and academia to advance Kaohsiung's 2050 net-zero vision.
